Intel Management Engine Interface Driver Windows 10 Dell

Support assist on my dell keeps telling me that there is an update that needs to be installed. The current driver I have is 11.0.0.1166. I have attempted many times to get this installed, and even opened a support case with them. After trying unsuccessfully several times over several days, they have told me that there is corruption in the O/S and I need to reinstall the O/S.?????????

This happened both before AND after the anniversary update to w10 was installed. Is there any help available? Dell states that there are no performance problems with the older driver. I just don't understand how the O/S became corrupted, (unless it was their driver package), and I don't understand why the latest update didn't refresh what ever was corrupted.
